Disabled Facilities in Loughgall Presbyterian Church and Church Hall.
PARKING:
Parking is free for all vehicle users of the open air park which is mainlyat the rear of the church building. There are two Blue Badge holders parking spaces.It is not necessary to cross any roadways to gain access to the Church and the route from these parking bays is easily accessible. 50% of the vehicle park is tarmac the remainder hardcore. There are no height restrictions and entrance/exit is by the main gates or over the cattle grid further along. The Church is on an elevated site and approach is fairly steep from the roadway.
ACCESS to and facilities within Church Building:
Main doorway to church is at the northern end of the building and has lightweight double doors outward opening to 6 feet (183cm) wide. There are a further inner set of double doors opening outward leaving an opening 5 feet 8″ (172cm) This is into Vestibule and from there, there is further set of lightweight double doors (right and left of the Vestibule leading to two aisles) opening outward to leave an access 3 feet 5″ (104cm) wide.
Approach to the main entrance door is via a very gradual permanent ramp. (photo ) Motorised wheelchairs are allowed in public accessed areas and there is a designated area for wheelchairs at the front otherwise parking is in the aisles. There is a disabled toilet facility, five meters from front entrance, off the vestibule (left on entering vestibule) disabled sign on appropriate door which is lightweight and opens outward. There is no key to access facilities but there is a twist lock inside.This toilet is also for all users. Baby changing facilities are not available at present but arrangements are in progress to install. The toilet size is approximately 4′ 11″ x 9’6″) (150cm x 290cm) Sink tap is lever type and hand towel with a dispenser is available. Sink cannot be reached when seated on toilet, Toilet seat is not higher than 2’5″ (74cm) high.
Normal toilets are available in the church hall. but not within the church building. Hot water is available Flooring is level throughout. Inside the church building the lighting is adequate and there is a hearing assistance system used by trained personnel. A hearing loop system is installed also. Hymnbooks are available but words for praise are shown on screen at front of church via PowerPoint. A carrying/wheelable chair is available.
ACCESS to and facilities within CHURCH HALL:
Access to Church Hall is via a gradual ramp with railings 4’8″ (142cm) wide.
There is a small 1.5″ (4cm) step to entrance hall via double outward opening doors 7′ 8″ (233cm) Normal toilets, male and female, are on right hand side of this porch. Hot water is available also paper hand towel and toilet roll dispensers Access from porch to main hall is via double doors, opening outward 5’4″ (168cm) Emergency exit points are illuminated type and the emergency exit at front ramp leading to car park. Inner doors leading to kitchen area and thence to minor hall are 2’8″ (81cm) wide.
